Well, supposedly we haven't updated in awhile - meaning a few days so guess I can't put it off any longer.
There's a few things that have happened - most of them having to do with the SOP class.
On the weekend:
The SOP had a big assignment for one of the guest speakers. I spent Saturday hanging out with some SOP girls - shopping and then doing a photo shoot. I actually was in a pig's pen in a big silver bathtub with a silver sequence dress on and silver heels - if you can picture it. Perhaps i'll be able to put up the pick soon - right now the girl that shot it doesn't have a website or flickr page unfortunately.
If you do want to check out last weeks pictures though - you can check out this link:

As for Sunday - it was kind of the same thing but in a hotter context. Dust unfortunately burnt himself silly the day before trying to get skateboarders but they were too lazy to shoot. So he had to shoot this day as well. Thankfully we found a treed area to shoot but it was a lot of walking back and forth in our pjs, just because it was all day, to get this shoot done. Also, after that one there were a few other crammers that wanted assistance for their shoots as well. A full day of being a photographers assistant but with no pay.
Monday:
Today was just a busy day of trying to get ready for our 'around the island' trip. I still taught today and also prepped my other teacher on the next two days - which ended up being harder than I thought. I also had to pack up our stuff, get any last minute purchases for the trip and then also try and get some sleep.
Tuesday:
We headed out around 7:30am and our first stop on the 2-day trip around the island with the SOP was the marina in Kailua-Kona. We were a bit surprised as we thought it was around the island but we did head elsewhere. After that we headed up east and went to an antique store then went to some small towns along the way. We went to the southern-most point of the US and then headed up to the volcano. Unfortunately the lava wasn't flowing all that much so we actually didn't get to the active part of the volcano. We ended up staying the night in the volcano park on a military base. We hung out in their bowling alley, ate fries and dustin was actually involved in a dance-off with one of the other crazy students, Ruthie.
Wednesday:
We headed out around 8am to try and get a good day in. We stopped off at a bit of a wierd town called 'Pahoa' which was kind mind-opening. A lot of drug-use and hippies. We then headed to have lunch in Hilo when it started raining and pouring. The rest of the day was a bit useless as we headed to a few waterfalls but it was soo wet and then went to Waipeo Lookout but couldn't see a thing because of the immense fog/vog. We did however stop off in some small town and ate malasadas - which are like boston creme doughnuts but way better - definitely a stop when the parents come out.
After that we basically ate a ton and then headed home. We were home around 7pm - a bit earlier than suspected but the rain definitely put a damper on our trip. We got home showered up and spent the rest of the night watching the bourne identity - the 1st part of our 3 part series going for the next three nights .... woohooo!
